Been toying with the idea of making another journal. Or two.

Instead of loping everything together into this one journal where it no doubt floods some of my friends that have no interest... I thought about making a Rec Journal. (SnugglemintRecs: Which only makes me think of a peppermint dinosaur snuggling things, and that's twice as epic)

It wouldn't be like a community, just a journal that people can choose to friend or not where I put up the stories that I've read that I feel should be shared with those that wish to see them.

But, being that there are so many Rec Resources if one knows where to look, I don't know if I would just be adding to an already ginormous pile.

Thoughts?

(And the second journal would be SnuggemintWrites, buying into the "Writes" fad, but also getting the fic that I write, if I write, out of the way from people that don't care about it.)

And then that would leave this one open to my personal life. Certainly, people that add me for H/D don't need to know the latest sore spot in my life.

Personally, I prefer rec lists to rec journals. If it appeals to you, you can just start on a rec list and link it to your journal (with a tag, of course). Or alter the date to leave it on top. That way, those who wish to see it simply can and you don't have to worry about spamming their friend's page (not that you are, though. At least, I don't consider it spamming) because you can simply keep on updating your rec list.

I say a rec journal because you have to have a list before you can make a list, and I don't have that, nor do I have the patience to bookmark a bunch of stories that I won't even remember as well as I'd wish to when the time came to gather them into said list.

I rather enjoy the idea of being able to put my thoughts of the fanfic with the link. Not only for others, but it would also make it easy to come back and read something for me. Yes, it would take a lot of scouring, but with the use of the archive it should make things easier.

This way though, I can read over what I previously thought and can determine if that's the story I want to read again.

To me a journal just seems a lot easier, and only the people that wanted to see the updates would add it, so there would be no spam since it is something that they signed up for.
