Does anyone else notice that the pickings for H/D in the "Harry is really Voldemort's son" category is.... Mmm... what's a nice way to put it... romanticized? A lot of evil!Harry fics like to explain away his reasoning to either being Voldemort's son, Dumbledore being manipulative, and in most cases both.
Which is great. I love that idea.
However... does it seem that the authors that have complete stories in this genre have... I don't know... It's just... too easy.
I'm trying to do this delicately. I'm not trying to slight the actual authors, but I don't know if I can do this without doing so.
I just feel that the Harry that they portray comes from this warped Fairytale. Everything always goes smoothly. Once he finds out he's voldemort's son he just KNOWS that's where he wants to go, and Voldemort just ACCEPTS it without a doubt and accepts him. And usually Harry is shown to have this massive, awesome power so much so that he's an unstoppable force and even the professors and Dumbledore cower at his godliness.
I don't know. It's just... yeah.
I want a story that shows this struggle realistically.
Maybe I just have to write it. Yeah... I might just do that.
