Yup. I'm deadlining my deadline, because... I'm... that cool?

Anyway. My

hp_creatures fic is due in the 21st, however, I'm giving myself til the 17th. That way my beta has time to go over it as her leisure and it gives me a bit of downtime before the 13 day fest over at

hd_seasons .

I'm... a little overwhelmed, I still don't know how long this fic is going to be and I'm afraid that I won't be able to toil it out in seven days, not with the quality that it deserves.

I have never felt the pressures of a fic fest before, but it is sooooo sitting on my shoulders now. Ergh.

What's funny is I almost chose this really strict, planned out Veela fic, but noooo, I had to go with the vague other prompt because it was easier and more flexible! Yes... for me to completely draw it out into a massive thing.

That's a lie, it won't be massive, it probably won't hit 30k, but for me it's massive because I've never written even 6k of one story much less a story promising at least 12k.

I don't think I've ever been so dedicated to a fic though, and I really like it despite the stress. I like knowing that I'm creating something that others will, hopefully, enjoy and can lose themselves in.

I can do it! -Headdesks- But now I have to get ready for work.

I'll grab a notebook at work and write something out by hand. The keyboard there is... well, in recovering stages. I spilled Dr. Pepper on it two weeks ago. Heh.
