Snugglemint's Wishlist 2010
Nov. 25th, 2010 02:18 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Step One
- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Ron/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use, or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free, do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf, to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not, it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
If you've already made your wishlist then please link me. I've only seen one so far, so friends on my flist should do this or risk being poked by virtual pokey sticks. They're sharp.
1. Postcards - I only have one postcard in my collection, but I was incredibly happy to have it! Postcards are just so much fun. It's little, it's personal, and it's a really nice gesture.
2. Banners/Artwork: Squees for you if it's for one of my fics. There isn't much to choose from yet, but still cookies. General Drarry-slashing is also love though.
3. Icon: I generally use my standard Snugglemint icon, but that's because the one I use is one my friend drew for me. So if you guys make me one I'll be more inclined to use it. :D - For my namesake or drarry preferably.
4. Peppermints: ANYTHING peppermint and I do mean ANYTHING. Seal a peppermint in an envelope and send it to me. I'll be ecstatic. NOTE: Please to not be giving of the Spearmints because they is being icky! /End House Elf
5. Fics: Nothing says caring like Drarry loving. Anyone that wants to write a fic for me no matter how small or large is greatly appreciated. I'm a big fan of creature!fics (thought not of the werewolf variety) I've found that Vampire and Elf are my weak spots. I'm also a big sap for mpreg. I enjoy revisiting Hogwarts in a working position as well. Hell, honestly anything and everything is good. 10 points to someone if they use a peppermint in their gift fic!
6. Vgifts: Vgifts are nice, they make me smile and leave a lasting impression.
7: Harry Potter Memorabilia: This is such a large list, basically ANYTHING that has to do with Harry Potter, I'm game. From the small like keychains to the bigger like purses. I'll be happy with absolutely EVERYTHING, but I do fancy the Slytherin side of things. (I'd even enjoy Wrock. If someone wants to burn/buy a CD of Wrock songs my favorite bands are/were Parselmouths and Ministry of Magic.) Or even something handmade.
8: Nail Polish: This seems odd even as I type it, but I do so like nail polish. I'm usually not the conservative type when it comes to nail polish. I like bold, sparkly, bright, or just plain unusual. I have gray nail polish if that tells you anything. Anything from China Glaze or OPI (which I have neither of) or down to the cheap ICE brand that I adore. (You may want to ask me which shades I have in ICE though if you choose this option.)
9: Stuffed Animals: Not the huge ones, I tend to enjoy the smaller ones more. 6 inches or smaller. Any animal is good though I do have a thing for turtles. And fish plushies amuse me for some reason. Probably because it's a stuffed animal without limbs. Yeah.
10: Help Those In Need: Do what you can to help someone else even if it's just passing on a smile. If you find that you can spare it this month then donate to charity. No matter how big or small, just letting someone know you're thinking about them is the most amazing gift that you can give.
